How Learning Happens

Engagement & Focus

A deep sense of focus is developed through a freedom of exploration, empowering children to follow their natural curiosities. Ultimately, establishing a positive relationship with learning.

Well-being & Belonging

True wellness means nurturing the whole child. At Norman Village Montessori School your child will nurture a profound sense of mental health, wellness, and belonging. We prioritize activities that foster self-care, where they will build essential self-regulation and problem-solving skills while deeply connecting with others.

Expression & Communication

Through body language, words, and tactile materials, your child will develop the capacity for complex communication. Our language-rich environment supports the growing skills that are foundational for lifetime literacy.

Cultivating a natural desire to learn

Cultivating a natural desire to learn

We don't just manage your child's day; we partner with you in their development.

Given the freedom we provide them to explore, your child will cultivate a natural desire to learn by following their own curiosities through hands-on inquiry and play. They will develop true creativity and innovation long before reaching Grade 1.

Family Conversation & Suitability Review

Inquiry & Application

Following your application, we will connect with you to arrange a family conversation. This meeting allows us to learn more about your child, discuss developmental readiness, and determine whether our Montessori program is the appropriate environment for their growth.

Families are invited to begin the process when their child is approximately 2.5 years of age by submitting a simple inquiry and application form. This marks the beginning of a thoughtful conversation about your child’s development and educational journey.

Introduction to our Philosophy

Families are provided with our Parent Handbook for review. This document outlines our educational philosophy, classroom expectations, and the policies that guide daily school life.

School Tour & Classroom Observation

Families are invited to visit our school and observe the classroom environment. This experience offers meaningful insight into the Montessori prepared environment in action, while providing an opportunity to ask questions and explore the program in greater depth.

Reflection & Decision Period

We encourage families to take the necessary time to reflect following their visit. Enrollment in a Montessori environment is a considered decision, and we value the importance of alignment between home and school.

Admission & Welcome to Community

Upon mutual agreement, families will complete a Parent Agreement outlining participation in the three-year Montessori cycle, as well as our school policies, calendar, and procedures.
